Weigh in: Week Fifty Two
Three hundred and sixty five days. Fifty two weeks. Twelve months. One year. No matter how it is said I can’t believe how far we’ve come. How much we’ve learned and lost and how excited I am to start another year! Over the last few weeks I’ve had hundreds of ideas for how I’d write

Sorry Viddlers! I messed up featuring videos
Every single day I feature a video at Viddler. Since joining the team in January of this year I’ve strived to do this everyday, even while on vacation. Though I’ve missed many days since my track record has slowly improved as we were able to improve the featuring system (you can see how well I’ve

I’ve switched back to iPhoto from Aperture
So a few weeks ago I asked for help to switch back to iPhoto from Aperture. I had a few issues that I wasn’t able to solve myself so I asked the masses for some direction. Turns out I did learn a few things from the conversations this post, and the Apple discussion board post,

An overview of Skitch
I’d seen Skitch pop up on Flickr and various Mac-related web sites for quite awhile before I got my hands on a copy. I’d wanted to try it but there is no open beta yet available. I thought this was because Skitch was unstable or simply not ready for the public eye. Boy was I

Build \”nice\” software
Lachlan Hardy, or the guy I broke bread in Austin with courtesy of Ma.gnolia‘s own Larry Halff and an openID discussion directed by Chris Messina, recently jotted down his thoughts on "sharing the love". Communities do not scale they divide
The very first part of the Web2Open in San Francisco I was able to sit in on, for only a few minutes, was answering the question: "Do communities scale?". Of course, there were many opinions as to whether or not they do, whose doing it best, and how to improve in the future. But in

Kudos to Viddlers!
We’re living in an age where all the tools for creating rich media are put into the hands of the consumer for far less than ever before yet this does not mean that producing this content isn’t still very hard work. I’m now involved with a weekly videocast for Viddler called ViddlerTV, and even though

I wish I could spend one month…
You’re probably thinking I’m a bit off but I doubt I’m alone. I’d love to travel back in time, to the beginning – you know – Genesis 1:1, and spend an entire month in various "time periods" throughout the existence of man up until our day. Sure I could just get a Library card but

Weigh in: Week Fifty
This week marks the fiftieth week of the-diet for me and several others that have been here since the beginning. I think something special should be done for week fifty two (which falls on the 29th of this month). Hmmm, ideas? So, this morning I weighed in at 185lbs. which is a loss of 1.6

I need help switching back to iPhoto
In February of this year I switched from iPhoto to Aperture for very specific reasons. My laptop’s hard drive was running out of space, as it was housing my photo library that was quickly approaching 25,000 photos and pushing about 30 Gigabytes, and I wanted to take advantage of Aperture‘s ability to store photo masters

Weigh in: Week Forty Nine
I knew this wouldn’t be a week for loss and I thought it’d actually be a week for gain, but it turned out that even after taking a weekend vacation and eating whatever I wanted – I was able to just about maintain my weight from last week (186.6). This past weekend Eliza and I

Do not share this video!
I wouldn’t want anyone to be gettin’ in troublez so don’t be sharin’ this with no one. Here is a link to the video that you should not share. Oh, but if you do share this video – let me know where you did. No wait, don’t share it – bad idea. [tags]hd-dvd, video, colin

Weigh in: Week Forty Eight
As we approach the first full year of the diet I’m excited to report another great week of getting more healthy! Even though I only got to play a little basketball and managed to hit the gym only once this week, I did what I think was a great job in the "food intake" department.
