My thoughts on the NY Video 2.0 April Meetup
I was unsure of what to expect from the NY Video 2.0 Meetup because, although I’ve been to other meetups, this one definitely had a much more professional "feel" to it going in. Almost like an Expo, without the huge price tag. I suppose to best cover what I thought of the meetup, I’ll split

Going to NY Video 2.0 Meetup
Tomorrow, Wednesday April 25th, I’ll be heading to New York City to attend the NY Video 2.0 April Meetup. Rob will be giving a presentation on Viddler and three other presenters will be demoing some of their stuff. I’m looking forward to all of the presentations, but mostly I look forward to making Rob laugh

Weigh in: Week Forty Seven
I skipped my weigh in last week due to being away. I typically do not like to weigh in somewhere else since I know that not all scales are created equal. While in California for six days I actually ate pretty well. And by well I mean a decent amount of food. When I went

My appearance on Lunch Meet
My appearance on The Vloggies at South by Southwest was supposed to be nearly immediately followed by an appearance on Lunch Meet – a show hosted by Eddie Codel where you’re able to discuss and demo your product. Boy am I glad that we waited until the Web 2.0 Expo to do this, since Viddler

The Web 2.0 Expo experience
When I first found out that the entire Viddler team would be going to San Francisco for the Web 2.0 Expo – I wasn’t sure of what to expect from the Expo. Would it be a social (tshirt and jeans) or more a professional (suit and tie) type of conference? And really, it turned out

Launching Viddler 2.0
Last night the next-iteration of the Viddler.com web site and video player launched. The development team did a nearly 18-hour development cycle in some borrowed office space we managed to secure in Santa Clara. The latest version of Viddler really add some fantastic features, which will be detailed much better on the Viddler blog once

Ignite at the Web 2.0 Expo
Tonight Donna, Chris Tingom, and I went to Ignite at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. We had to drive down from Santa Clara (from the offices that Viddler is borrowing to pump out the next version of our site) – and the drive to San Francisco is pretty fun. Ignite was a great event.

On the way to San Francisco for Web 2.0 Expo
Overlooking Denver, Colorado So what do you do when you’re tens of thousands of feet above the Earth, looking down at nothing but the clouds that most people are seeing above their heads? Well, I write – finally – about heading to San Francisco for the Web 2.0 Expo. The entire Viddler team is converging

Weigh in: Week Forty Five
This week I weighed in at 189.4 pounds for a difference of .2 from last week, in other words, negligible difference. The last few days have been spent on the couch sleeping, waking up to eat, drink, and take medication, and then back to sleep again. So I’m fairly happy with maintaining my weight this

Notice: Outage
Over the last few days TUG.n has been down. However, I’ve been experiencing problems with email for months, and I never even knew it. I’ve had everyone from clients to my mother telling me that I did not get their emails. My main personal email address is currently cdevroe(at)theubergeeks.net and has been for 5 years.

Does Google My Maps allow video embeds?
I’ve been playing around with Google My Maps ever since they were released and I’m still having trouble using embedded videos. At first I thought that I somehow had to ask Google to whitelist Viddler as a video provider. But since then I’ve tried random YouTube videos to test and I have even had trouble

The sweet smell of ma.gnolia
I signed up for del.icio.us in November 2004. I bookmarked a few URLs in the first few months, then didn’t use the service for over a year. I was always teetering between wanting actual browser bookmarks and wanting to have a publicly available list of bookmarks. I used del.icio.us on and off but ended up

Weigh in: Week Forty Four
My weigh ins are going to become less and less exciting (as if they were riveting before right?) because I think my weight will begin to plateau now that I’m sub-190lbs and I’m actively working out. So instead of just covering the amount of gain/loss each week I’ll also toss in some of my other
