Signboard 2.0 will be a line-in-the-sand release. There will be Pro features that are only available to Pro subscribers. The 1.7.x release will always be all free. I’ll likely do a release there that removes the commercial license and keeps the tip jar. Stay tuned!

Side note: It is really, really nice.

TIL you can rest a Stroopwafel on top of a mug of coffee or tea to soften it. Why hadn’t anyone told me all these years?

Upgraded to OSes 27 yesterday. Siri AI is actually helpful! I thought I’d never see the day. To get the new Siri app on macOS Golden Gate I did need to restart, just FYI. Looks like a solid update so far.

TIL my Tumblog (which reposts my posts from here) turned 17 years old back in March. Tumblr was quite a place in its time. I remember starting The Watercolor Gallery there and it exploding in growth (did you know I’m slowly restoring that website? Go take a look it is getting there).

Remember when Threads promised to join the fediverse and totally botched it and made it only one way?

Red Bull’s website has a blog post about photography on it (cool!) that says “Blogs aren’t really a thing anymore.” (ironic, and not cool!). I’m glad I’m not fond of Red Bull.

There were issues with Signboard’s updater on Windows and Linux. Those have now been fixed so if you’re running Signboard 1.5.0 or earlier you should be able to update to 1.6.0 now.

Finished reading Meat Eater by Steven Rinella. I enjoy a good outdoor adventure story. Even hunting stories. So often lately the story has become about the gear and the trophy… and the over-hyped energy around a kill. All the wrong reasons to be hunting in my opinion. Steve doesn’t really do that. And he started humble.

I think WWDC 2026 looked fantastic. Great updates across the board. I have the feeling a lot of people will be installing the public betas. Oh, and I’m glad Shortcuts can be written by an agent. Because this human was terrible at it.

I’m trying to record a demo video of all of Signboard’s features, including those that will ship in version 1.5 (coming soon), and I’m just failing miserably. I’ll do it another day. So many great features in this app.

A wee bug fix release of Signboard 1.4.1 was just released. I am looking forward to writing and sharing more about this app, and how I and others are using it, very soon. My productivity is through the roof.

Signboard 1.4.0 just shipped and it includes a new Planner workspace that contains the date-based views of Calendar, This Week, and new Day and Agenda views. This allows you to get a bird’s eye view of all of your open Boards (or, drill down into just one).

I’ll write more about this release when I have time.

Bulldozer (best name worst name?), my very simple but rickety PHP script I’ve used for years to help me move images into yyyy/mm/dd directories based on their creation date, was just updated significantly to be much more reliable and also work very well with agents. Get the latest on GitHub.
