Weigh in: Week Nineteen

I weighed in this morning at 186.5 pounds, or up 1.5 pounds from two weeks ago. The weight gain is almost meaningless but it does remind me to stay on track, and get back on a schedule.

Last week I didn’t weigh in. I got some emails and IMs from those that asked me why I hadn’t weighed in, simply put, moving takes your normal schedule and flips it the bird.

So here is to getting back on track and joining the gym in November for some results on the muscle-to-fat ratio front. How did you do this week?

    Hi Colin,

As you might know, I had to stop “the diet” in mid-August due to the Renaissance Festival madness which really screwed up my eating habits. I started with you at 225 and I have managed to keep it steady at 215 however. :)

I am going to try and get back on things here this week, so I will probably be in here a little bit more. Glad to hear you have done so well - my goal is to get under 190, and you have already met it! I can’t say I will be playing basketball 2 hours a day, but I’ll have to find other ways.

How long are you going to be losing - I may continue to need some encouragement after you’ve met your goal, if there is still anybody around once you meet it.

    Troy

Troy: Not only will I still be around and still be posting about how I am maintaining and my progress at the gym, etc - but there are over 100 others that you could tap into for encouragement.

Not everyone on the diet posts to their sites, not everyone on the diet posts to Flickr - but everyone on the diet has a common goal - to be healthy, and that should help everyone to encourage one another to do just that.

    Thanks Colin -

I just moved from MT to Wordpress, so I don’t have tags working correctly (whats the best wordpress plugin for technorati tagging?) and I need to re-add the graphics as well. But I’ll be working on it!

[...] It took me about 20 weeks to get close to my goal. I never actually reached the numerical goal I had set (180 pounds), but I was happy to have gotten where I did (185 pounds). Then we moved which made my dieting posts screech to a halt. [...]

  5. Are you an overweight geek? on The uber geeks Says:

[...] I was overweight once. Then I, and some of my friends, created the diet. Twenty weeks later I was down 40 pounds and feeling great. If you are like me, you need a no-bull diet. This one has no rules, just diet your way, and post your results. [...]

  6. Colin D. Devroe » Weigh in: Week Twenty Seven Says:

[...] I weighed in this morning at 189.6 pounds, up 3 pounds since 8 weeks ago. I am very surprised at this number since I thought I’d have gained more than only 3 pounds in that amount of time. [...]
