Finally I’ve had the opportunity to build and release Slugger, a plugin that allows me to use MarsEdit to the fullest of its potential with WordPress. Finally.
Devin: “Superior” is relative right? For me, I much prefer desktop applications compared to doing everything in my browser. I can write offline, managed an unlimited amount of weblogs (be them wordpress, mt, blogger, or typepad, or vox) from the same applications never having to log into their admins to write. Also, MarsEdit has several features that I find really useful like custom tags, custom shortcut keys, etc. which help to write out blobs of HTML.
This isn’t to say that MarsEdit is the only kid on the block – or that it is the best. It just happens to be my personal fav.
Cool, just what I was wondering. Since I don’t manage many other blogs (at least not frequently enough) then I can’t see myself needing this. Same with offline editing, etc. Thanks for your perspective.

Would you mind explaining why something like MarsEdit is superior to editing within WordPress itself?
