SPARK Talks at the NEPA Tech meet up in December 2017
SPARK Talks are, by definition,Ā Short,Ā Provocative,Ā Action-oriented,Ā Realistic, andĀ Knowledgeable talks that are loosely timed, on a specific topic (more or less), and allow many presentations to be given at an event. I had never heard of them prior to this month’s NEPA Tech meet up organized by John George. SPARK Talks remind me of Lightning Talks or Ignite.…

After a little more than a day with Android the thing I miss most is Tweetbot. The Twitter apps are terrible. I now understand why many people don’t see the value of a microblogging social network. Tweetbot is likely the only reason I can still use Twitter.
-
After over 10 years on iOS I’ve switched to Android on the Pixel 2 XL. So far an excellent experience.

Seriously considering a move to the Pixel. But what would I do with my Apple Watch? And how does one live without Tweetbot?

Andrew Canion’s podcast addiction
Andrew Canion: I listen to a lot of podcasts. Iāve been listening to podcasts for more than 10 years, way before they were mainstream. I used to load podcasts onto my work-supplied IBM ThinkPad and drive to work with it open on the passenger seat, playing podcasts. This was before I owned an iPod, let…

Micro.blog is now public
Manton Reece: Micro.blog is now available to anyone. Thereās a limit of 100 new sign-ups each day, so that we can better respond to feedback as the community grows. I’ve been using Micro.blog on the web, Mac, and iOS for a few months and the community there has been great. In fact, the vast majority…

An original iPhone shot – November 2009
An original iPhone shot – November 2009 The short story behind this photo that I’ve recently stumbled across is that Eliza and I were on a cruise in late-2009. I took my iPhone and she was still lugging around her DSLR. We both snapped a photo at the same time. But, I had never thought…

Please don’t try to explain Bitcoin at parties (unless you know what you’re talking about)
Unless you’re drinking your flat whites under a rock, you’re likely seeing a lot of news about Bitcoin, it’s current exchange rate against the US Dollar, blockchain and it’s various applications, etc. You might even be getting sick of hearing about it (or, perhaps you’re sitting there earning hundreds or thousands of dollars per day…

Evergreen blog post traffic
Rod Hilton, creator of the aforementioned Machete Order, in December 2015 just as The Force Awakens was released: Wow, this Machete Order thing got big! Recent grams
I’m trying my hand at Instagram again. This time I’ve created my own filter using Snapseed which I’ve named ColinGram2018. I’m taking some photos I’ve published here and re-editing them with some cropping, blurring, and using ColinGram2018 and then publishing them on the gram. Here are a few example images I’ve posted so far.
