Photographer. Podcaster. Blogger. Reverse Engineer.

Cleaning up my blog subscriptions (in NNW). Adding some new ones (please send recommendations). Getting ready for a new push into blogging, mostly about photography, and getting some new podcast episodes out. Thinking of scaling back on Twitter and IG.

Chris Aldrich has a large variety of blogs and other sources available on his β€œFollowing” page, complete with OPML files: https://boffosocko.com/about/following/

bix says:

@cdevroe I just dumped my Feedbin subs to opml last night, converted to html, and made a new Subscriptions page.

odd says:

@cdevroe Maybe there is something interesting here? (It’s not only blogs)

odd says:

@odd Maybe sharing feeds in @Netnewswire could be a thing? cc: @inessential.com

JohnPhilpin says:

@bix nice – used to do that myself – will update

JohnPhilpin says:

@cdevroe well at the risk of self promotion :

johnphilpin.substack.com

it’s a newsletter – but i pull all my newsletters into Feedbin

JohnPhilpin says:

@bix hmm – stoop you say … interesting – but why aswell as feedbin?

bix says:

@JohnPhilpin I did not like how Feedbin handled newsletters. Too many display frustrations.

JohnPhilpin says:

@bix ahhh – i know what you mean – will take a closer look – thankyou

bix says:

@JohnPhilpin I think, really, trying to sort of RSSify, for lack of a better term, newsletters didn’t work for me. I’m fine with actually seeing the newsletter as it was sent, design and all, rather trying to de-style them.

JohnPhilpin says:

@bix I notice iOS only for stoop πŸ™

i agree on the feedbin rendering of the newsletter … sometimes it is ok – but sometimes – NOPE

bix says:

@JohnPhilpin There’s a web beta for Stoop; I use it via Fluid App so I have a quasi-desktop Stoop app.

cdevroe says:

@JohnPhilpin self promotion is my favorite type of promotion πŸ‘Œ

cdevroe says:

@odd excellent thank you

JohnPhilpin says:

@cdevroe and in my case – the ONLY promotion!

NetNewsWire says:

@odd It’s on the list of things to consider for the future, for sure.

cdevroe says:

@NetNewsWire I could imagine my RSS feed being a standard issue in NNW. πŸ™‚

JohnPhilpin says:

@cdevroe I think we all could πŸ˜‰

Maybe a whole folder of micro blog feeds … πŸ€ͺ

// @netnewswire

Talking of which – any plans to improve how folders are displayed in the feed list … fiery feeds does it in a way that clearly and visually delineates them.
