Random 60: Can’t wait.
Random 60: Can’t wait. on Viddler.
Wait, are you saying that you can not wait? Or, are you saying that you’d rather not wait? See, there’s a difference. But – even though I don’t like the phrase “I can’t wait” I don’t see any alternative that won’t peg you as being a geek or nerd.
It [...]
Making and watching Ratatouille
Back in November 2008 Eliza and I decided to make and watch Ratatouille. We’re both big fans of the movie and we thought it neat to actually make some of our own. Eliza, after almost 7 months, has gotten around to posting the photos on her site. The recipe, btw, came from The New Best [...]
Weigh in: May 19, 2009
I didn’t weigh in last week. On Monday I was sick and the rest of the week sort of just ran away from me. This week I was really excited to weigh in to see how I did over the last few weeks.
Today I weighed in at 189 lbs. which is down three pounds since [...]

Testing Wolfram|Alpha
It seems that since the launch of Wolfram|Alpha people are generally testing it rather than using it. Although, I’m willing to bet, there are people out there that are using this amazing service for doing actual research and are finding it altogether indispensable already.
Dave Winer tested it on a Friday night. He ran some pretty [...]

Tumblr Dashboard permalinks…
After playing around with Tumblr for months (I’m cdevroe over there), I finally noticed that the little “page curls” that happen on-hover on posts on my Dashboard from those whom I follow are actually the permalinks to those posts. Man do I wish I found that sooner! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve [...]
IE to last until 2021?
Ben Parr of Mashable.com reports that, according to current trends, IE will be going the way of the Dodo in 2021. Or, at least, it won’t be the leading browser. This, in and of itself is great news – but do we really have to wait that long? Ugh.

Yankee tickets are expensive
File this under the “no duh” category – however, Jason Kottke recently linked to an article on the New York Post Web site describing how it’d be cheaper to fly from New York to Seattle, see two games in the best seats, eat at the best restaurants, and stay in some fancy hotels (by a [...]

Where The Wild Things Are – blog
Turns out Spike Jonze, the guy directing Where The Wild Things Are, has been keeping a bit of a blog about the making of the film.
Random 60: Watch those calories!
Random 60: Watch those calories! | Favorite on Viddler.
Whether you are dieting or not it is always good practice to make sure you watch what you’re taking in. Calories can creep up on you. There are more calories in everyday food than most people would guess. In today’s Random 60 I use the extreme example [...]
Beak, a fantastic Twitter client from Mike Rundle
John Gruber made an excellent point in his piece called “Twitter clients are a UI design playground“. The excellent point I’m talking about is made apparent within the very title of the piece. That Twitter (I’m @cdevroe, btw) is an excellent playground for designing UIs for third party clients.
Mike Rundle, whom I had the extreme [...]

Justin Blanton reviews Tweetie
He really turns the app on its back and gives it a thorough look. He managed to find a few gems, in the first version of the application, that I never even new were there.
Reading his review, albeit late and after an update has already been released for it, has inspired me to dive [...]

Sleeping Pookers
22 hours of sleep is obviously not enough.
Twitter replaces TinyURL with Bit.ly, will they buy it?
According to Marshall Kirkpatrick of ReadWriteWeb Twitter has “crowned Bit.ly the King of all Short Links” and replaced TinyURL as the default URL shortening service that Twitter uses. (I’m cdevroe, btw)
Scaling Bit.ly to keep up with the demands of Twitter, since Twitter is growing at a remarkable rate, is an obvious concern. Will Twitter buy [...]
Dell’s 22-inch HD monitor selling for only $140, wait $159, wait, nevermind
This morning I saw Steven Frank’s link to a Dell 22-inch monitor that was selling for, at the time, $140. By the time I clicked on the link it was selling for $159 (still an incredible deal). Not three minutes later the site reads “Please call for latest prices.”
Weigh in: May 4, 2009
You’ve all been waiting with baited breath, I know – but at long last, here it is – my weigh in for this, our sixth week back on the diet.
It has been a great week. I ate very well this week. I don’t remember missing a single meal, I ate enough calories every day, and [...]
