👋 I'm @cdevroe@mastodon.social
One of my favorite ways to find new people and great content on social media platforms is to wade through other people's favorites. Unfortunately, Mastodon doesn't allow me to publicly display my favorites so that others can see them. So, I'm working on a way to show mine.
Below are the 50 most recent posts I've favorited on Mastodon.
Most recent Mastodon favorites

March 24, 2023, 3:26 amThanks to @sundogplanets for the heads-up. Tonight's aurora are pretty fantastic. I posted a note for my students, especially the fellow from Columbia who had asked if he might be able to see northern lights from Moose Jaw.

March 24, 2023, 12:19 amSo now that we have Artificial Intelligence, so does that mean we also have Artificial Stupidly and Ignorance? And at what ratio are these two artifacts at?

March 23, 2023, 10:55 pmOn a more serious note, if anyone ever wonders why I bother shooting film, they just have to give this a go.
Good music, a bottle of wine, and a whole night of making prints. It’s glorious.

March 22, 2023, 9:02 amThis #xkcd cartoon provides an excellent explanation for the problem we have understanding planet formation in our Solar system. If you smear the masses of the planets into rings that butt against each other to form a disk, Mars is clearly the runt of the planetary litter - either the circumsolar disk was anomalously thin at point or something disrupted the formation of a much larger Mars! One explanation is that Jupiter and Saturn moved around and scattered out material from the inner system.

March 20, 2023, 9:33 pmI found out today that I'll be getting a summer intern to work on a project writing alt text for the back catalog of Hubble images. They probably won't be able to cover the entire 30+ years of Hubble images, but I'm excited to have alt text for the most important ones!

March 20, 2023, 8:00 pmI really like the rhythm I’ve got myself into lately:
Monday is for trying new API, or learning new things about old API (both of which turn into a week’s worth of TikTok videos)
The rest of the week is for building, whether that’s my own projects or a client’s.
Kicking off the week with low-stakes exploration and discovery is really really nice

March 19, 2023, 11:54 pmYesterday I loaded up the Burley trailer and biked up to campus to paint the magnificent old gingko tree on the North side (and one of its much smaller olive tree pals). It’s budding out — there was just time to sketch it before bone chill set in.

March 18, 2023, 1:14 pmAn advise / idea for comic artists: make your handwriting and font.
I created my own font family based in my handwriting, with the invaluable help of Type-ø-tones heroes Laura Meseguer and Josema Urós. Some of you had already spotted the typeface use in my comics and asked, so here’s your answer. - JeremyCalow (jeremycalow@mastodon.world)

March 17, 2023, 8:39 pm@cdevroe I use safari 95% of the time, but sometimes need a chrome plugin - and I much prefer the chrome dev tools to safaris. Same tools, but I like chrome's better.
I trust apple with my data more than I trust google with my data, and safari is near perfect.
