  • Hahlo 4 – coming soon

Dean J. Robinson, the developer behind what is easily the best iPhone web application for Twitter, recently gave us a glimpse of what we should expect from the next version of Hahlo. He lists ten things we should know about the next version – and here are three that I’m really looking forward to. Better…

  • The best of 2009 as told by me

In November 2008 I put forth a list of things I thought were the best Web sites, applications, and various other things that I came across in 2008. I said "They are simply works that I feel should be awarded with the recognition of being the best that I’ve personally found this year." I’m doing…

  • WordPress’ Twitter API

WordPress.com, to be specific, now has an API that mirrors the Twitter API. This effectively allows any Twitter client, such as Tweetie or Hahlo, to read and write to WordPress.com powered blogs only by changing their API endpoint. Hopefully this feature will be available via a plugin sometime in the near future? /via Tony Schneider.

  • Why you don’t need a URL shortening service if you use WordPress

I was in the mood for a long post title. Sue me. My thoughts on URL shortening services are pretty public but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a need for them. I prefer Bit.ly over any other URL shortening services that I’ve used to-date. With Tr.im dying I thought that there was always…

  • The best of 2008 as told by me

It is only mid-November but I’m confident in my choices for this years "Best of 2008 as told by Colin Devroe". This isn’t a list based on popularity, consensus, or a set of rules. They are simply works that I feel should be awarded with the recognition of being the best that I’ve personally found this…

  • Web applications that I use on my iPhone

"Use on mobile phones and sites you use to keep up to date and others in the loop." And I thought the llama suggestion was going to be tough to write?  What the heck does this suggestion actually mean?  It isn’t like I was able to ask who suggested it, because it was suggested anonymously.…

Yesterday, via Hahlo on my iPhone, I saw @MarsPhoenix twitter this: "Are you ready to celebrate? Well, get ready: We have ICE!!!!! Yes, ICE, *WATER ICE* on Mars! w00t!!! Best day ever!!" I was happy that they’ve been able to confirm what they thought all along and accomplish what the main purpose of the mission…

  • Twitter is definitely down, sorta

digg_url = ‘http://digg.com/tech\_news/Not\_seeing\_your\_Twitter\_updates\_Here\_s\_the\_very\_simple\_fix‘; Over the past few days the number of Twitter statuses popping up from those I follow on Twitter have been scarce.  At first I thought it was because I was beta testing the latest version of Hahlo.  Then, I thought it was a problem with the API and so Twitterrific would also…

  • An odd Safari mobile tab bug

While my friend Chris Masto, whom I met through Viddler, and I waited to go to lunch on Thursday in New York City he mentioned to me how much he likes to use Hahlo as his Twitter application of choice on his iPhone. Chris was probably the tenth person in a week to tell me…
