Carl T. Holscher on growing up at a slower pace:
I wasn’t ignorant. I read voraciously. I wrote and thought. I shared my thoughts in that fledgling collection of wires and computers. I talked to classmates and spent hours on the phone with a friend talking to the wee hours of the morning.
No matter where or how you grew up I think life moves so much slower when we’re younger. I miss the time when weekends felt like weeks or hours like days. At 34 I’m constantly wondering where the time went. Just yesterday I mentioned to my wife that I felt as though the weekend disappeared right before our eyes.
This feeling of time whooshing by forces me to consider how I spend it.
