A law should be created to have a exact amount of separation and ventilation between the smoking and non-smoking sections in restaurants.
If this law does exist, it should be enforced. If its being enforced, it should be enforced in such a way to bring great penalties to those not abiding by it.
If you are a smoker, this message is not against you for your choice. This message is against the restaurants themselves for not providing enough separation between yourself and me. I have chosen not to smoke. So, the smell of smoke while I am eating is a tremendous “turn-off”.
I know many States have indeed banned smoking inside some public buildings and I think that’s great. I don’t think that smokers should have harsh consequences for simply wanting to light-up inside, but being a non-smoker I also don’t want to breathe smoke.
I’m really unsure as to how this problem could be solved 100% amicably, but I know that having enough space and proper ventilation between the smoking and non-smoking sections in restaurants would be a huge step in the right direction.
