5 by 5 Studios – Talk radio for the Internet

February 2nd, 2010

Or, maybe we should call it Talk Internet now? Talk radio still sounds better. Anyway…

Dan Benjamin, who like me has always been a very big fan of talk radio, has launched a new network for audio podcasts called 5 by 5 Studios. I’ve listened to the first few episodes of each of his shows and so far so good. If you’re a fan of talk radio give Dan’s new network a listen.

Something for everyone.

Installing Ruby and RubyGems (including Rails and mySQL) on Mac OS X Snow Leopard

December 7th, 2009

In case you’ve been living under a rock (where in the world did that phrase originate?) you probably know about Dan Benjamin‘s extremely simple, yet incredibly useful and valuable, step-by-step tutorial for installing Ruby, RubyGems (including Rails and mySQL) on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

I recently had the need to upgrade each of these on my Snow Leopard install and it worked perfectly.

BlackRapid R-Strap review by Justin Blanton

December 30th, 2008

If you know Justin Blanton you probably know two things about him: 1) He works way too hard. 2) He has a critical eye.  Neither to a fault. In fact, I believe this makes for a combination suited for reviewing.

In this review Justin describes his experiences with the BlackRapid R-Strap, a shoulder strap tailored for photographers with DSLRs that would like to have quick access to their camera and also enjoy a hands-free experience when they are not shooting with that camera.

As Dan Benjamin points out – be sure to watch the videos.
