Finally a voice of reason in all this hoopla around Marco and Overcast 2 — Manton Reece on his blog:
We often see someone go from nothing to a top app in the App Store. We often see someone start without an audience and then make friends on Twitter and blogs through the quality of their writing alone. And so we welcome new voices all the time if they’re respectful.
Anyone that says “that’s fine for Marco but we can’t do that” is wrong and they’re ignorant to the world around them.
Name five apps that you use today that you used 3 years ago. Name five web sites that you visited 3 years ago but no longer visit today. Name five designers or developers that you didn’t know of 6 months ago but you appreciate their work today.
The world moves quickly. Do good work and anyone can “be Marco”.
