You, too, can be a geek

John Siracusa, on his personal blog, The Road to Geekdom:

You don’t have to be a geek about everything in your life—or anything, for that matter. But if geekdom is your goal, don’t let anyone tell you it’s unattainable. You don’t have to be there “from the beginning” (whatever that means). You don’t have to start when you’re a kid. You don’t need to be a member of a particular social class, race, sex, or gender.

If you’d like to be a bit geeky, about anything you’d like, you can. You can start to become one whenever you so choose. You can be a guy that is geek about baking. You can be a girl who is a geek about JavaScript. You can be an older woman who is a geek about medicine. You can be a younger man who is a geek about space travel.

You, too, can be a geek.
