I’ve always been a proponent of allowing beer or wine in the workplace. I’ve never really needed to articulate why I thought it was a good idea but I think this one reason from Liz over at KegWorks nails it:

“Working late isn’t so bad – with salaried employees there’s no overtime pay as incentive but the fact that you can enjoy a good beer while you finish up and get the job done makes it a little less disconcerting to burn the midnight oil.”

Oftentimes when I feel like I need a break I would be more apt to leave the office to get home or to a pub in order to relax with a beer. With a good, cold drink available in the office it allows me to do exactly this while staying at work.

At Viddler HQ we like to keep the fridge stocked with a few bottles of beer and, more often than not, there is a bottle or two of both homemade wine and beer around. So, if you like that kind of thing, send us your resum.

Its Friday afternoon. I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it here on my blog before but on Friday afternoons I typically enjoy a glass of wine to finish out the week. So, if you’re reading this – feel free to join in.
