I saw this quote from Joe Keohane on Matt Mullenweg’s blog. I’m sure Matt had his own reasons for publishing this quote to his blog and I’m fairly certain they are totally different than mine. He kept his to himself and I will too.

They can cause us to twist facts so they fit better with our preconceived notions. Worst of all, they can lead us to uncritically accept bad information just because it reinforces our beliefs. This reinforcement makes us more confident weâ€™re right, and even less likely to listen to any new information.â€
