If you’re a skimmer, this is worth reading every word – Lukas Mathis noodles the way several Operating Systems have tackled the task of creating new documents and in doing so comes up with an elegant solution to the problem.
I find the irony of the post striking. Lukas’ site is called Ignore The Code – and, in the end – he ends up ignoring the code he wrote to tackle this task.
