I’m excited to say that Red Oak is now available for WordPress. The price will go up in 7 days. Red Oak sports a cool photos view built on a custom post type, customizable colors (like the new iMacs!), and a few other odds and ends. Maybe buy a copy?
@cdevroe Are those color availabe on the Micro.blog version also?
@sku_b They could be via a config parameter. There are lots of options in my themes that could be available via a config on m.b. But I didn’t know if people wanted those.
@cdevroe Assuming this is all CSS based, I’m sure I could play around a bit and figure things out.
@sku_b it is now available! Just update config.json!
@cdevroe oh sweet. Thanks!
@cdevroe That’s a really simple edit. Thanks again!
@sku_b Be sure to link me to where you’re using it!
@cdevroe Using on my main page at skoo.bz where it’s still repopulating. However, I’ve ran into a couple issues. One, I get a lengthy error message on the design screen when I use the edited config file. I’m wondering if it would be easier to clone the theme from github instead. The other issue I see is the photos page isn’t loading correctly.
@sku_b If you’re getting an error, that may be why the Photos page is not working right. Can you email me the error? colin-at-cdevroe.com cc @help @manton
@cdevroe Sent.
@sku_b I think I’m seeing the issue. @manton may not have updated Red Oak to 2021.2.0. The preview site is still running 2021.0.18.
Manton, see anything wrong with Steven’s photos page?
Debugging Micro.blog issues isn’t easy.
@cdevroe @sku_b Should be the latest version, although it only updates after making a change to your blog. (I just forced the preview site to update.) Can you forward me the error via email? Sounds like the error is making the photos page incomplete.
@manton @sku_b I forwarded you the error he was getting. Seems nonsensical to me.
