AuRants, opening soon in Duryea, PA.
Our friends Dave Ciminelli (master chef) and Mike Matosky are opening a restaurant in Duryea, Pennsylvania – soon. It is called AuRants and to say that I’m excited about the opening wouldn’t be enough. They plan on taking full advantage of both Facebook and Twitter with their new venture to make announcements, share deals, and

Ebert and I wholly disagree about Transformers 2
I consider Roger Ebert to be an excellent movie critic. His reviews have caused me to rent many a film – and I’ve enjoyed nearly all of them as much as he did in his reviews. Recently, however, he crapped all over Transformers 2. I saw the movie over the weekend and enjoyed it very

Food in jars – learning to can food
It is no secret that Eliza and I have a lot of learning to do regarding our gardening adventures. Our biggest problem to solve, it seems, will be what to do with all of the produce. Marisa McClellan has our solution. FoodInJars.com is her Web site that has a single mission: "a campaign to teach

Bufo fowleri – or the common Toad
Caught this little guy while fishing in Prompton, PA a few weeks ago. The thing to watch out for when catching toads is that they are not being stalked by some other animal like a snake or snapping turtle. They are the main source of food for many animals so beware.

From Rapid Fat Loss to Strongmen: A Guide to Becoming Superhuman.
Photo: Left to right – A nice guy that worked at AT&T whose name escapes me, Tim Ferris, and I. Tim Ferriss, who I had the pleasure of sharing some barbecue with in Austin a few years ago, is preparing his second book – with the working title – From Rapid Fat Loss to Strongmen:

Got my laptop bag in the mail
Just received my new laptop bag in the mail today. No, it isn’t a pizza box (or any of the 15 coolest laptop bags listed here), it is a carbon-colored Small Alley case from STM. Even though the details for the bag say that it fits laptops up to 13" I’ve been assured by Cameron

Picking strawberries
A perfect day for Eliza and I to pick strawberries with Paul and Sherin. Wine, smoothies, and all sorts of goodies to come.

The Weinert guys
John and Kristopher Weinert fishing. We won’t mention the current score between the two fishing this year. (Kristopher is most likely ahead.)
