Excellent sentiment and a strongly needed reminder of how things can sound online.

As I read your post I wondered why this is true and decided that although the net gives us a good platform to express ourselves to the world it also takes away some of the personalization of expression.

We naturally want a platform to share our opinions about things. Negative opinions are often shared for at least partially positive reasons (ie. don't buy that brand of device because they aren't well made or isn't that newscaster awful --faint hope that complaints might build up and lead to a new commentator). On the other hand, if one is happy one does not feel the same incentive to express that feeling or opinion.

We need to check ourselves and notice if we are trying so hard to make things better that we only talk about things that are wrong.

Thank for the post!

The Viddler video commenting plugin still doesn't let me login.

That's an issue, not a complaint. ;)

I constantly stay positive by saying "Giddy up!"

Not quite related to the topic, but you might want to change the initial screen so the "Random 60" text is on the left side rather than the right, so it's not covered by your custom logo.

That's exactly what I found in car club forums. People only posted the complaints and issues, thus making it seem like there is always a problem with that vehicle. I think it's a reflection of a bigger issue in our media. The nightly news has 90% doom and gloom and then a quick 10% positivity.

There is psychology that is all about the root of the problems and mulling them over and there is solution focused therapy that is about getting a positive result and moving on.

I'm glad your highlighting this. We could all use some perspective and smiles :)

I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining about complaining ;)

Two things I like about this... you responded to a Random 60 with a 100 second video, and you didn't mention the bear until the very end!

So true.. Colin. People complain about everything and each other. I went through my Facebook statuses and today's really wasn't a complaint. I am happy to go back to work. But my statuses are about 1/2 the times complaints. I hear complaints all day from the kids, customers and co-workers and it does bring you down.SO EVERYONE:BE HAPPY!!

Word up.

A while back a friend of mine who also follows me on Twitter was like, "I want to unfollow you: you're always whining!"

I read through my Twitters, and he was right!

I try to make a more conscious effort now to be positive (I think it helps my mental outlook too, to focus on the positive 3 or 4 times a day (when I tweet)).
