I just found your website and am loving what I’ve read so far.

As for this particular question, I love to sing and dance…and am truly bad at both. Still, I’m going to sing and dance a bit more today – and everyday – not until I get better but until I forget why I didn’t do it more in the first place.

I do love to write, but I’m bad at deciding what to write. The next time I do, though, I’m going to add you to the list of people that receive it. So…be on the lookout for something from PocoNotes.

I’ve been thinking about this one a lot today. Not because I can’t answer the question, but because you’ve got me thinking about the things I really enjoy doing yet haven’t spent much time with lately.

But to answer the question, there are two things that come to mind for me – Rock Band and Social Media. I love both and am really not very good at either. Average at best.

One of my favorite things to do that I’m no rockstar at is playing first person shooters on Xbox Live. Colin, you know all too well that my Halo strategy is anything but impressive, yet I manage to re-spawn time after time and keep trying to get a kill before it happens all over again.

My list:

I love music. So I’m trying to learn how to play guitar. I really enjoy it even though I’m not good at it at all.

I love playing beach volleyball even though I get trounced by the competition I play with.

I love eating weird things even though I’m no good at describing it yet. I’m trying to learn, though.

Your thoughts are inline what with Chris said above. Perhaps it is our pursuit of “getting better” or learning something that keeps us doing the things we love to do, even if we’re not good at them.

Good way to look at it. I suppose I too work at my art in hopes of getting better every time. I don’t plan on being as bad as I am today forever. But I suppose I never plan on being “great” at it.

Great question, Colin. Made me think. I tend to do things with the intention of getting good at them.

However, the best answer I could give you currently is…rock climbing. I can kinda climb but it’s tough. Hopefully, I’ll get better and move onto something else I can suck at for a while.
