Taken: May 7, 2009 in Mayfield, Pennsylvania while on a walk with Eliza. Photographing these bees was a neat experience because I would get as far into the tree as I could, and I would hear a constant bzzzz until I found the bee that was closest to me to shoot.

Mid-night Dogwood

I just had to take a photo of this tree. I think it is a dogwood (if I’m wrong please correct me).

This Dogwood is in full bloom and is on Jefferson Avenue in Scranton, PA. I wish I had seen it during the day.

Spring buds

Taken: April 17, 2009 in Mayfield, Pennsylvania.

The buds on the trees are pop, pop, popping into these really great explosions of tree life. Reds and greens of all shades, future leaves that will create the food that the tree requires to produce this year’s growth, next year’s seeds, and the energy it will need to lay dormant during winter.

Before a dinner with some family at my mother-in-law’s this weekend I had the chance to walk around her backyard, which just happens to be a very large field with two streams and a small tree covered hill on it, and take a few photos. Here are some that I am choosing to share.

AdequateÂ rain fall, cooler weather, and plenty of sun has made northeastern Pennsylvania richly covered in deep green this spring. Â As summer quickly approaches, I’m sure this particular shade of green will begin to give way to a more yellow tint, but for now we’re enjoying some of the greenest greens I’ve seen in a long time.Â

Nope, no marsh to be found

Yesterday I went to shoot photos just off of a highway near my house, a place that I have wanted to shoot for at least a month. Â Each time I drove by this spot, in the little view of the area that I had while exiting the highway, it looked like there was a marsh area that seemed like a nice place to shoot some photos.

I was wrong about the marsh, but I was able to get a few good photographs anyway.

But, that’s ok. Â I fully expect to be wrong now and then. Â I spent maybe only about 30 minutes pushing through some thick brush in order to get to the place I wanted to be to find nothing but a small trickle of a stream. Â I’ll get over it.

Hmmm, where to shoot next? Â Maybe it will be a good spot, maybe not – but I’ll keep trying regardless.
