We’ve got a brand new parking garage at Viddler HQ, which is annexed in the excellent Ben Franklin Technology Center, and it is pretty nice.

Eiffel Tower blueprints

Probably better described as yellowprints these “blueprints” are reproductions (presumably far better looking ones) of the original documents used to build the Eiffel Tower found in a book from 1900.

I never really wanted to be an architect, one of the only things I haven’t dreamed of being, until I saw these.

One of the things that struck me about this photograph is how you can manipulate the iPhone while you’re taking a photo. I shot this photo in landscape mode, by tilting it backwards prior to rotating it, which ended up giving me a portrait result. I think that’s kinda neat.

Also, if you’ll notice the depth of field. I think I might try playing with the iPhone’s DOF, albeit not its best feature, but it is there, and I think I might be able to start to come up with some neat results given the proper conditions.

Hot on the heels of my unrealized designs for this site comes something I saw, starred, and never got back to a few months ago: Unrealized architectural projects of Moscow from the 1930s and the early 1950s.

Some of the project, like the Palace of Soviets, are monumental in scale. Gorgeous stuff throughout.
