(Fairfax Station, VA) It has feathers and I didn't know what it could be. When it got light outside I took pictures of it. It was about 2" long and never moved. I have looked through thousands of moth photos on the web this morning and finally found out what it was. I wonder where it came from, as I've lived here as a nature lover for 10 years and have never seen one before! I am curious as to how common they are in VA. Anyone know?
