Jeremy: You make a really great point; the fact that the parent needs to be "reloaded" or perhaps it is set up to refresh at an interval. I've found the same thing.

I've been frustrated by this bug more than anything else on the iPhone, I think. in fact, I found your site specifically to see if it's a known issue.

I don't use Hahlo, but I have seen it happen consistently with Newsgator Online (my web-based feed reader) and applists.com, a directory of iPhone web apps. Both pop up new tabs, and closing the child tab and returning to the parent will yield the latter loading the child's content once you click on it (the parent URL is correct in the tabbed view until I click).

I think it occurs with any parent-child pair where the child is closed and the parent is out of cache and has to be reloaded when you reselect it. This happens to be most of the time, since, as you point out elsewhere, the cache is so small as to be almost nonexistent. Also, there's no back button to even return to the real content.

I've definitely noticed this -- it's been a problem for a while. Oddly enough, I never asked anyone about it or sent a single email to the powers that be. Thanks for getting things rolling, Colin.

I have noticed this and have been frustrated with it but haven't thought much of it because my browsing on the iphone is so disposable.

Thanks for getting this submitted to the parties responsible.
