Never let your Wife complain about the cold ever again

Women seem to be more affected by the cold than Men. I’m sure this is merely a misconception and Women are simply willing to voice themselves more than Men are.

Many Women exist, quite happily, within the Arctic Circle. These Women work, play, and live their lives in freezing temperatures. Yet, the Women (at least the ones that I know) of the Northeastern United States tend to complain about the cold. Well, this has to stop.

It comes down to pure motivation. What is the motivation for being in the cold weather? Perhaps walking from the front door to the car is out of the question unless the car is warm, properly scraped of ice, and playing their favorite song. You’ll see, quite often, Women running from the front door to the car after their husbands or boyfriends have been in the car waiting for it to warm up. Ladies, I’m on to you.

Give them proper motivation and Women can do anything. The Bible refers to Women as a large army. By pure description a large army would be capable of almost anything, and so are Women.

Why am I saying all this? Why am I telling all Men to tell their Wives to “shut it” when it comes to the cold? Because with proper motivation these Women will brave any weather. Be it heat, cold, rain, sleet, or snow - they will endure it to save a buck.

Today is “Black Friday”. Infamously known as the day to save money on various gadgets and products ranging from MP3 players to Wine coolers. Five dollars here, twenty-two cents there, it all adds up. This is the motivation, this is the draw, this is where the complaining gets flung straight out the Window.

This morning, Eliza thought it’d be a great idea to run to a few stores and pick up some things on sale. With extreme reluctance I agreed. The main reason I had agreed was that she wanted to pick up a few memory cards for her new camera, which would end up saving us about $60. Sixty dollars is not anything to sniff at, so I thought it’d be a cool idea to “run in and run out”. HAHA. No such thing as “running in and out” on Black Friday ladies and gentlemen.

So, long story short (well shorter then it could be), we went down to Best Buy at 4:30am to pick up the memory cards. Our plan was to visit Best Buy, Walmart, and Target before going to Perkins to get a bite to eat. We didn’t get finished in Best Buy until after 7:00am. The line outside, in freezing cold winds, wrapped around the store. Eventually they decided to just let everyone in, so after about 40 minutes we made it into the store. Once in the store, the real lines begin. Lines for MP3 players, incredibly worthless computers, LCD screens, and various low-budget movies on DVD. We found what we wanted, the memory cards, which were sold out. However, we were able to find a comparable deal for roughly the same product and we are happy with what we got.

Then, the real line begins — THE CHECKOUT LINE. This thing is amazing. It snakes in and out of every isle, making its way to the back of the store. They disguise this fact incredibly well. Every single person that got into the checkout line said “This is the line to checkout?!?”. No one could tell that the line weaved in and out of the isles of refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, and car audio equipment.

Needless to say, it took a very long time to checkout. We didn’t mind too much, since it gave us an opportunity to warm up before going back out in the cold.

We were almost at the end of the line when Eliza said that she didn’t want to go to the other stores and instead just go straight to breakfast and then home. SCORE! Seriously though, if you saw the lines at Walmart and Target, in comparison to those at Best Buy, you’d have made the same intelligent decision.

It just so happens that making that decision helped us get our breakfast almost right away (there was no line at Perkins), and that by the time we were finished eating everyone and their Uncle was trying to get into the place.

We’re both glad thats over and we’ll probably never do that again unless there is a deal that we just simply can not resist.

Oh, and expect to see tons of E-Machines on eBay before Noon. What pieces of JUNK they are and to see people fighting over them is great entertainment.
