One thing I noticed about the posts on the site for the Segate giveaway is that majority of us do some sorta of Photography work.

Windows Media Center Edition- my TV/PVR. As bandwidth needs increase (like you're mentioning) it only seems natural the storage spaces increase.

Devin: MCE? And I agree about having the extra space. I think being limited on what you are able to consume, use (applications), or create (photos, video, audio), just because of the size of hard drives really sucks.

I once wrote that I thought hard drive capacities will increase greatly in 2006 - and I suppose 750Gb and 1TB is a huge jump in the right direction - I just expected these sizes to be much more accessible by now.

The iTunes Music Store now selling movies is a huge impetus for companies like Apple to allow for much larger hard drives to be "built-in". Only being able to buy a few movies will hurt the iTMSs bottom line quite a bit.

In 2007, companies will be giving away hard drives to help the media companies greater distribution of their content. I guarantee it.

This is a good point- ever since I got 250GB I've never worried about what I install, what shows I record (on MCE). A few gigs for a few hours means nothing... and that's awesome.
