I loved that eppisode, infact i love the whole series. The fact that they do kill people off every now and again takes us that step nearer to the end and finding out whats really going on.

I would lean towards agreeing with you Colin. At least my fingers are crossed.

It was a horror episode. Not only that, it was a twisted Romeo and Juliet.
That said, I enjoyed being taken for the ride.

I think the writers need to solve a few of the mysteries, and introduce some more.

James: I'm of the opinion that they are not actually dead.... though I definitely could be wrong.

I liked the episode, but I'm a tad irritated by the killing of Niki.

I'm a fan of the actress Kiele Sanchez, and ever since seeing her name in the opening credits at the beginning of the season, I've been waiting for them to utilize her to her full hotness factor, yet they just kill her off after a couple of two line episodes. Sad times.

Still it was a good episode.

I thought this episode was good just for the entertainment factor. It was very tongue-in-cheek, perhaps a tad too much (Sawyer asking who Nikki was 3 times+ is a bit overkill), but overall a very fun hour of TV.

I don't mind the whole never answering questions thing as much as most people, but I have to admit the first quarter of the season was overall very weak. Lately, it definitely has been on an upswing and has got me excited to watch new episodes again, rather than it just being a ho-hum experience.

Eliza: Thanks for agreeing with me. :)

Owen: I agree 100%. I don't mind not knowing the "big things" because, as you said, it would kill the show. However, there are a ton of little things that they simply haven't covered that I'm hoping they clean up.

The first was that they confirmed the Jack / Claire relationship. The second one that they've recently addressed was the reason Locke was in a wheel chair. However, there are still tons of small tidbits that I wouldn't mind if they cleaned up, even if they just used them to create new ones at least I wouldn't be worried that they've forgotten these little things altogether.

Thanks for stopping by!

We were happy in the first season not knowing what mysteries the island held, knowing that eventually all secrets would be revealed.

We were amused in the second season by additional mysteries. But we weren't given any answers to the big questions that sucked us in during the first season.

And now, the show is starting to show its fatal weakness: You can't perpetuate the mystery forever.

That's why these recent episodes that show some of what's going on are still drawing us in. But they're never going to reveal what everything is about. Think about it. If they did, the show would have to end within two or three episodes, just because the characters would have to know what we know, and that would be enough to know that either they are doomed or how to get home. There's irony in the idea that what makes us keep watching is what we hate about the show - we never learn the secrets. There is no prestige.

That said, this most recent episode was very well crafted. I love episodes where you see new characters integrated into old, familiar scenes.
