John Gruber: Celtics fan.
Back to back links to John Gruber’s Daring Fireball? The way I figure it, I owe him a few thousand links to make up for his one link to my site.
Recently, and I’m not sure exactly when, John updated the logo graphic on his site. Something he doesn’t do all that often. This time John shows his loyalty to the Boston Celtics by saying “Beat L.A.”. Something he doesn’t do all that often either.
When the Celtics won the Eastern Conference Finals they, nearly immediately, began chanting “Beat L.A.! Beat L.A.!” and so now even the crowd gets into it at home games during the NBA Finals.
Doing a search of his site for Celtics only turns up a few mentions of the Boston-based team.
I’m not sure that John is a Celtics fan full time, or even a basketball fan in general, or if he just doesn’t like the Los Angeles Lakers enough to chant through his logo. Maybe he’ll write about it some day.
