Perhaps you are right, maybe they did it randomly somehow, or specifically by server - who knows. Because mine is and I got IMAP a week or so before you did, so I'm not sure the roll out was strictly gmail.com then app accounts. Unless you were just later in line than me, but I set mine up months after you and got mine set up first.
