I'm more concerned with the guy willing to put his name on the piece to begin with. While I do realize it is very difficult (journalism in general if very tough), I do think that scare tactics like this should not have to be rooted out, they shouldn't exist in the first place. Obviously this article was meant to scare and confuse people. But one should be careful when looking at whom to blame. Someone at CNN should have caught this and reported the early on in the editing process. However they probably didn't have enough time to look over it before it was published. It was just lazy of them. Crazy articles like this are usually the work of one crazed writer. In my line of work, there are some times where due to hard deadlines, we have no choice but to publish less desirable articles. We do it knowingly but we don't do it to be mean.
