Trapped in an elevator for 41 hours

Nicholas White was finished with his cigarette break.  Little did he know that he’d be taking the longest cigarette break he’s ever taken.  Trapped in New York City’s McGraw-Hill building’s elevator Car No. 30, while security cameras captured every moment, Nicholas spent nearly two days in October of 1999 waiting for rescue from his prison.

Even though this video is time-lapsed, it still gives you an incredible sense of what Nicholas went through.

Brilliant and tragic at the same time. My favorite part was when they put the “out-of-order” sign in the elevator doors at the end.
