Safari 4’s Full-page Zoom is impressive

After reading this review by Pierre Igot I gave Safari 4’s full-page zoom feature a spin. It is incredibly impressive. I wish the browser wars were not such a tight race right now so that choosing a browser wouldn’t be such a hard decision. (via John Gruber)

I’m not quite sure why he was so impressed–Firefox has had this for a while, as has IE7

Safari’s full-page zoom, at least in my tests, works a lot nicer than Firefox’s. Just on my site here Safari does a near perfect zoom while Firefox doesn’t do as good a job keeping the layout (although it is far better than I had originally recalled it to be). Maybe that is what is going on here?
