Ice on Mars, confirmed
Yesterday, via Hahlo on my iPhone, I saw @MarsPhoenix twitter this:
“Are you ready to celebrate? Well, get ready: We have ICE!!!!! Yes, ICE, *WATER ICE* on Mars! w00t!!! Best day ever!!”
I was happy that they’ve been able to confirm what they thought all along and accomplish what the main purpose of the mission was. They should definitely figure out a way to bring some of it back here though.
Imagine the drinks? Mars on the rocks? Martian lemonade? What else?

Now what would be really interesting was if they liquidifed the ice and then tasted it…

John Lampard: Not sure I’d be throwing that stuff into my mouth too soon. Hopefully over the next few weeks they’ll be able to report on the make up of the ice. Exciting times ahead (in nerdy science terms).

I just noticed–the title of this page is “Ice on Mars, confirmed by Colin Devroe”. I didn’t know you were so involved with the Phoenix mission!
