Cool! good reasons and I understand, they certainly are not for everyone.

You seem to be hitting your goals without it, so you're doing something right!

I wonder if you can call it pumping iron anymore, perhaps even lifting weights is off. I've got to think of a tem that better describes the activity.

James: Aversion would be a strong word. I've never enjoyed lifting weights, nor desired to look as though I lift them. I guess it would be a combination of not liking the activity, nor seeing its benefit to me personally since that isn't one of my goals.

Perhaps in the future, if someone comes along and says "Hey scrony guy", I may change my mind a little. But I've never had a problem with that in the past.

Perceptions change over time, and perhaps mine will someday. But at this point, I'm fighting the battle on so many fronts that perhaps I'm unwilling to fight another.

Well thanks Colin, I appreciate that. But, we make the changes for ourselves, and <strike>blaming</strike> crediting them to others is just our defense mechanism to deal with the possibility of looking weird for making such large changes.

Credit yourself my friend, you've done all the work for you. But, the support of friends is invaluable, so continue to cherish that, I know I do :)

Weights aren't for everybody, I know I love lifting, but I'm curious what is your aversion to them?

Mark: Going from very little activity, to regular activity, will indeed produce muscle. Though not the ones I'd get from lifing weights which, as I said in the past, I will most likely not do.

Good work Colin, sounds like its going really well for you.

I wouldnt think you would gain much muscle from playing basketball - weight training is your friend there.

James: Thanks man. In part, you are to blame (err, at fault, I mean to be credited) for my success. It was partly due to your signifigantly changing more than just your diet that led me to get out and make a schedule for exercise. I thank you.
