Based on your description it seems as though you're saying that you're trying to delete photos that you've synced from iPhoto to your iPhone. To change these you need to see the Photos tab in iTunes itself.

Doesn't work for me!
The iPhone icon does show up on Image Capture, but it shows... 33 photos! Exactly the ones I did NOT sync from iPhoto! I DID eject i Phone from both iTunes and iPhoto, quit both apps, and Image Capture insists on recognizing only the 33 photos... God, I'm getting desperate... HELP!

Thanks for sharing this. We've been at a loss as to how to get LG Blu-ray player to get wired internet. Living in an apartment we didn't want to get into routing wires through walls.

We picked up an Airport Express on Friday and I followed the directions from the Alex King's site and now have a very happy husband who's enjoying Netflix streaming.

Colin! You were the man on this and Shane and I really appreciate you for it. I to was able to contact others who were sleeping and the domino effect was powerful.

The math showed this was going to hit us and cause damage; I believe we changed the molecules by engaging the hearts and minds of awesome networks locally and globally.

An earthquake in Chile in 1960 caused major damage in Hilo and many deaths - this time we had not only precise warning but love and attention.

Finally figured out how to setup a different Browser window in a different space.

1. Make sure to turn off the option under preferences "when switching to an application, switch to a space..."
2. Make sure that Firefox is not assigned to any of the workspaces at all. This may still work if it is assigned to 1 workspace. I had problems with it was assigned to all workspaces.
3. Now go to a space and open Firefox.
4. Go to a new space and open Firefox again. You won't see anything other than the Firefox toolbar come to the forefront. From the toolbar choose "New Window". This window is a separate instance of Firefox.

You can now switch between both spaces and have separate instances of Firefox running. I think this was the way the author was suggesting to use this feature. You could imagine a Finance workspace where you have a copy of Quicken running along with a Browser window with several tabs (e.g. Wells Fargo, ETrade, Mint).

The problem you describe is the experience of everyone that works at Google right now — and it definitely needs to be fixed.

As it is, I have to run two separate browsers to handle this situation — and let me tell you — A LOT of folks want this fixed internally.

It's worth nothing that the fact that you can use Google services on your own domain is something that actually keeps the web more open and free — but as such — it introduces a level of complexity that most service providers don't have to deal with today. My hope is that the work that Google's doing on this will make a big difference long term, but in the meantime, it definitely creates an unfortunately uncomfortable reality.

About Franklin Hills. I literally grew up down the hill from the winery. It's a great place but if you extended hours, try their store in Tannersville, PA. It's right on 611 next to Friendly's Restaurant. That's where I got hooked. Went in for a Christmas present for someone else, found the people very nice and helpful and they hooked me! I bought my very first bottle of wine that day! Now we're on the trail and doing the March Madness!

This Google Apps/Google account Chinese Wall has been driving me nuts for a while now. Until now it's been relatively manageable because, like Colin, I had a separate Google account from my Google Apps account that I used for all the services (Reader, Analytics etc.) that, for some reason, are not available in Apps. To keep up appearances, like Colin, I used my Apps email address as a primary login.

The arrival of Buzz, however, has suddenly turned this issue from an annoying quirk into a disaster: because Buzz is tied to Gmail (which, by the way, I personally find absurd), you have to sign up to Gmail, which generates a standard you[at]gmail address which, in turn, is promptly turned into your primary login. Your Apps email address is treated as if it weren't a Google address at all and is demoted to "secondary" status. The worst thing about this fiasco is that there's no undo.

I hear Chris Messina's point about this being difficult to fix. But Apps should never have been set up like this in the first place. Google has just annoyed a lot of what by any accounts must be its most loyal users. And the Buzz fiasco has made it urgent to find a solution to something that should never have happened.

It certainly seems that way but I wouldn't count this guy out. He's delivered three pretty amazing apps already and there is still plenty of room on the Mac for a great Twitter client.

I wonder what's up with Twitterrific as well. These days I run Echofon on my mac .. seems to be the only app with support for the 'new' RT system.

Good stuff! My wife and I made a similar trip last year to the wineries just outside of Tucson.

We don't really have to worry about the winter hours here so we made it to several different wineries. It was a fantastic, relaxing weekend trip and we discovered a couple of new favorite wines while there.

Having the same issue with my Apple Time Capsule. Portable USB hard drives are inconsistently recognized after plugging into the USB port, even though they're recognized just fine by my MacBook Pro. I'm running the latest firmware and OS. Wondering if this has to do with the amount of power (or lack thereof) that can be transferred by an AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule, or by a mini USB cable. Frustrating in the land of "It Just Works." AirPort Disk Utility doesn't recognize that a USB hard drive is even plugged in. I don't have a USB hub and frankly shouldn't have to use one if all I want is an AirPort disk attached to my Time Capsule. I'll keep checking back for answers. Thanks!

If you want a longer write up about how annoying this problem is, read this post:

http://www.equalsdrummond.name/?p=267

As for cross-domain Buzz instances — it's really up to the domain owner whether to be open and interoperable or not. But that's in contrast to today's silos where that kind of cross-posting isn't even possible. That's why Buzz is really exciting to me!

Yeah. Again, I'm not worried about actually using Buzz. I'm just frustrated by the way the accounts are handled across applications at Google in and out of Google Apps.

It is a bit strange, but in a sense, aren't Google Apps for Your Domain supposed to be "walled gardens" in a sense? For instance, on Viddler, we only share documents with other @viddler.com email addresses, not with @gmail.com addresses, and I would expect Buzz to work the same way (once it's available for domains).

I'm guessing Google sees @gmail.com addresses as Google identities, whereas domain accounts all exist only within their own community.

Hey Colin, sorry to hear about this problem. You're definitely not alone -- and this problem is something that we're both aware of and working on.

I can't give you an ETA, but it is a high priority to fix this and gets to the heart of why Internet identity is broken today, and also so hard to fix.

There are also plans to roll out Buzz to Apps for your Domain, but again -- no ETA. We're definitely on it though (it's still weird to include myself in "we" when talking about Google!).

Hey Colin,

I use Google Apps for my domain as well, and I have the same problem that you're describing above. However, on Google Reader, only on my iPod Touch, Buzz does show up and authenticates with my Google Account email address, which of course is still the one that is hosted by Google Apps.

Perhaps this is just a roll-out issue.

We also need to expose "Reorder by title" since doing locale aware sorting in JS sucks; and the option "Reorder by title" is gone with a new API -- see http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=32194

I hate, unplanned changes and, or development; the Google and, or Chromium Developer Teams pretend they are doing much more new things, whereas their Chromium is years behind compared with a mature and well tested Firefox ;)
