The WordPress app for Android is frustrating. Media uploads rarely work. I don’t know if I am to blame the app or my web host. This sort of thing makes it more difficult to microblog on-the-go.

@cdevroe not cool. Given the number of people who use WordPress, I wonder if this is a common issue 😕
@cdevroe I’d assume the app. I always had those issues when I was using WP.
@cdevroe I tried it once for a photograph, and did not have any issues.
But I will admit it’s cumbersome and not very intuitive for quick shares, status updates, etc.
@matigo I don’t know. It is bumming me out. Maybe I need to make something.
@cdevroe making things is good. I’m about to make a coffee and sandwich. If you were in the neighbourhood, I’d make one for you, too 👍🏼
@cdevroe I had the same, in my case it turned out to be my web host. On my new one (also on WP.com) the Android app works like a charm and uploads are no issues. Do you happen to be on Dreamhost? The only thing I have is sometimes, that the app, when I stay on the upload page, sometimes uploads twice. But then again, I use the beta-version. Shoud report this actually.
@svenseebeck I just switched to Dreamhost for my personal blog. So perhaps that is it.
@cdevroe I had huge issues there. Uploading images resulted in permanent http errors. Sometimes I needed 4 times to upload one image. It outright annoying. I ranted about here
I like the app, but then I haven’t tried to upload any media.
When it works, does the app optimise the media, do you know?
I should say, I’m using WordPress.com, too. Possibly that changes things too.
