Jim Ray on why they made Evening Edition:
Right now, there’s more “news” than ever before, but it comes in dribs and drabs disguised as news-like updates fed through the same channels as your friends’ baby photos and fart jokes.
Evening Edition is a refreshing break away from the realtime stream of terrible news coverage – yet, it is still in bite-sized pieces. Each edition is published around 5PM PST. I think this is a perfect time to launch something like this and I hope it succeeds.
As I mentioned on Twitter Ray goes on to say that it fits in with "The Slow Web" which is something I’m trying more and more to subscribe to.
